Weekly Q-Tips Week Ending 5/9/10
outside of the oil spill, music news
- Jay Electronica, Pitchfork's newest rap baby, sounds off on his bball game. Of course he mentions one of the most controversial players as his models for his play. Lets see him against Ron Artest. However, his latest song featuring Diddy is quite good, a reason Pitchfork has shown their support.
- Sharon Jones & her awesome Dap Kings have been circulating on KISS FM, a sentiment to how good their new record is, a traditional music revival on KISS FM [finally], a tainted stain on their revered name.
- On a much more depressing note, in Somalia Islamic militia have banned music from being played on the radio. What does that leave? Annoying DJs who have a hard time carrying a conversation for 2 minutes between songs, talking 24/7.
- Probably the biggest news of the week, Kelly Clarkson's new song "Naked Eye" is a popped-up/ripped-off version of Arcade Fire's "Rebellion [Lies]. Yes, indie is influencing the mainstream, how awesome is this, SUE HER.
- Check out these upcoming Tuesday's releases [May 11th, 2010]. These are recommendations and decent releases for this week. You should be able to figure out which ones I recommend and which ones I am not.

Jay Electronica | "A Million In The Morning"
Here is a dope new track from Jay Electronica, one of my favorite new rappers. His ridiculous street talk seems to be from experience, a real rapper who is able to translate his experience into words. His earlier song "Exhibit C," is one of the hottest hip hop songs in a long-ass time. I'm ready for a new mixtape of his.
