Neon Indian: New Label, New Single
|:|Chillwave Extraordinaire |:|
Here is an awesome new single from [it's safe to say] founding father of the chillwave genre, Neon Indian [aka Alan Palomo]. He was kind of under my radar last year but his sound is quite enthralling and dance heavy. His sound is not completely computer generated, he does include instruments in live performances, so all those traditional music enthusiasts can't entirely dismiss Mr. Palomo.

FREE SPIN 2010 PREVIEW DOWNLOAD
SPIN is giving away a 10 song download of acts they feel will break out of their shell in 2010. Some of these I might argue broke out in 2009, i.e. Neon Indian and The XX. But a few of these look pretty promising. The list includes

- Free Energy - Dream City
- The Soft Pack - Answer to Yourself
- Revocation - REaniManiac
- Cold Cave - Life Magazine
- The XX - Basic Space
- Owen Pallett - Lewis Takes Action
- Foxy Shazam - Bye Bye Symphony
- Nneka - Uncomfortable Truth
- J. Cole - Lights Please
- Neon Indian - Deadbeat Summer

Aw Shucks! (Superb Tunes I Missed Out On In 2009)
Trying to find new music is not the easiest thing when it comes to being in college. It's like trying to sleep in Las Vegas. (There's too much to do and so little time to do everything you planned) Winter break has been a nice change of pace. I have had ample time to search the internet and find new music. With just about every blog doing a list of top albums or songs I have discovered some pretty good stuff that would have certainly made it on my list of Most Important Albums or Top Songs.

Wild Beasts - Two Dancers

Local Natives - Gorilla Manor
Sunset Rubdown - Dragonslayer
