Mamarazzi is Gangster

The guys over at Mamarazzi sent over their newest piece, "Gangster." It has a funky sound that jazz fans and Gangsters alike will find enjoyable. This complete ensemble features piano, sax, trumpets, everything you would expect in a revived funk track. They mix rapping, singing, jazz to create a very unique sound. From listening to the lyrics I'm not entirely certain of what angle they are trying to take, comical or serious. Check out their Myspace and if you're from Brooklyn look out for their "Gangster" release party at Glasslands on Friday [March 5th]. Born Ruffians - Sole Brother

Check out their new single "Sole Brother." It has a semi blues sound. The vocals are unpredictable and scattered all over but are a trademark to the track. Overall a must-check-out. Hopefully the weather isn't skewing my opinion today, because it is B-E-A-UTIFUL outside. However I'm thinking the sun may be improving [not impairing] my judgement.

Their new album Say It, is due out June 1st on Paper Bar Records. Keep an eye out for it, pre-order it.

Here is an iPhone photo of a show they did this past weekend. If you are a Decemberists fan you might have to watch this curve ball go through the strike zone.
