The evolution of The Avett Brothers as seen on one of the largest news networks in the World. It's always great to hear a little bit about what they think. Make sure you close the browser after the video or you'll see Dancing With The Stars. 35 days until Live Vol. 3.
I hope you have already seen this new Cee-Lo Green song "Fuck You." It's a perfect Summer jam [even though it came out after my Summer was over] to crank up while headed to the lake. The chorus is by far one of the catchiest things created since the baseball glove. Cee-Lo Green's album is coming out Oct. 4th, if you can't wait until then, buy the song right here.
The Arcade Fire has released another video from its, at one time, #1 selling album in the country, Suburbs. Let me rephrase this last sentence. The Arcade Fire has teamed up with Chris Milk and Google to create a multi-browser experience set to their song "We Used to Wait."
After entering your hometown address on the home page, the video uses street views from Google Maps to create a recognizable experience. However, Google Maps doesn't have implemented street views of every place, so it may be less personalized depending on where you grew up. I was part of the latter and Google didn't deem my roots worthy of mapping.
Regardless of the personalization of the experience, hopping between different frames and listening to Arcade Fire is quite an experience. MTV can't handle this one.
Do you ever get emails that make your day? Between all the pointless newsletter and payment receipts a bolded slice of refreshing information can really turn your sour morning into a ripe day. Figured out I got a good email yet? The information technically wasn't news to my ears but it certainly reminded of some news [an upcoming release] better than that extra cookie you snagged from the Chips Ahoy! container last night.

That's right folks, THE AVETT BROTHERS are putting out a new record featuring LIVE versions of most of their better songs. 4 songs from their latest album, I and Love and You, then 11 from previous records. 1 is "Ballad False Start" which is not new, just Seth flip-flopping some of the lyrics of "The Ballad of Love and Hate." That's a very genuine inclusion to the album, and unless Seth has twisted/forgotten the lyrics more than once [which I doubt b/c he is an accomplished musician] then this live recording is from their set at Bojangles Coliseum from August of 2009. Another awesome piece of news because I WAS AT THAT CONCERT.
If you have ever seen the Avett Brothers live you know what I'm talking about when I say they go all out and put on an ammmmmazing show. The live versions of many songs are less produced and have a rustic, Monster, and countryside feel to them, a reason why you haven't truly listened to them until you have seen them live. They released Live Vol. 2, a compilation of 16 Avett songs released in 2005. In the 5 years since they have released 2 EPs and 3 LPs [that sounds absolutely ridiculous, they're the real deal] so the pool of chosen works to include on Vol. 3 has considerably increased. With such a vast catalog it is hard to choose 15 songs to include and not leave out some incredible songs. [...if only picking kickball teams in gym class were like this]
WAIT, did I mention it is a CD/DVD combo? So not only will there be a CD to play in the car, but a DVD to have some visuals while you're listening. The DVD tracklist basically mirrors the CD sans the "False Ballad of Hate" and in it's place the breathtaking "Swept Away." [SPOILER ALERT: which will more than likely feature their sister on vocals, she was at the concert]
Pre-Order this BAD BOY right hizzle. Lots of goodies to get. Posters, bandanas, multiple disks. BUT NO VINYL. AVETT BROTHERS, WHERE DA VINYL AT?! GIVE ME THE VINYL. [or gold]

Here is a little gift from the most recent time I saw The Avett Brothers. A cover of Bob Marley's "Is This Love" played as an interlude in the middle of a song. What an epic combo. The Avett Brothers and Bob Marley. They should do a Bob Marley cover album next.
Here is a new Mixtape that is full of tunes that I have found this Summer or fully embody the chillaxed mood that June - August represent. Hope you can enjoy these tunes.
You may be asking what Reindeer Co-Op is.
It's a blog I'll be updating sporadically with mostly music, some pictures, some quotes, some videos. Basically whatever I am feeling that day. It's just a side thing I want to do until I get settled into a new Semester and House. I hope to be back soon but until then visit me at my Tumblr.
