First off, Fyfe Dangerfield is the dopest name that is an artists actual real name. This cool cat is releasing a new album on January 26th entitled
Fly Yellow Moon. This is his first solo effort. He is better known as the leader singer and song writer for the band Guillemots. He has a very strong voice, deep at some points and raspy at others when he is belting out lyrics. It reminds me a lot of Julian Casablancas' voice off of
Room On Fire when Fyfe is really getting into it. The three songs on his
Myspace really capture his different sides. On "Livewire" he does a good job toning everything down with an acoustic guitar and soothing voice, much like Sufjan Stevens. With songs like "When You Walk In the Room" with such tenacious lyrics and catchy sound, Fyfe is going to have a well received and respect debut album.
