Nyle: "Let the Beat Build"

Awesome video of an NYU music class. This is a much better version of Lil' Wayne's song of the same name.

The Knife
I regret to inform you that "Colouring Of Pigeons" (earlier YTE post about COP) is the only track with substance on Tomorrow, In a Year. It is tailored exactly to the opera, and many of the songs have barely any noise at all. I am very disappointed in the album and retract any hype I have built up about it.

Jónsi
Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi has announced that his solo album, Go, will be released on April 5th. (unless you're from Australia or Germany, you'll get it earlier. The 1st and 2nd of April respectively) This information coincided with the announcement that Sigur Rós is on an indefinite hiatus. It's rumored that they had an almost complete album ready last year but threw it out because they "didn't like" it.

03. Tornado
04. Boy Lilikoi
05. Sinking Friendships

The Knife | Tomorrow, In a Year Stream

The Knife in collaboration with Mt. Sims and Planningtorock are releasing their Darwin opera inspired album Tomorrow, In a Year on March 1st. The album, which is from the opera motivated by Charles Darwin's, Origin of the Species, is now streaming on their website, and BELOW. These electro-beat geniuses collaborated to make this piece of art, more so art than the Knife's last production. You can pre-order the album now just for the mp3's, or buy the CD and get the mp3's now (or any type of music file type you would like). If you plan to do some reading in the near future, plug some headphones into your computer and listen to this album, sure to [1] put you in the zone or [2] softly lull you to sleep, but either way, you are listening to some interesting music while you do so.

Colouring of Pigeons - The Knife

The Sweedish electronic duo hasn't put anything out together since Silent Shout in 2006. Last year, half of the duo, Karin Dreijer Andersson, released a brilliant album under the name Fever Ray.  "Colouring of Pigeons" is 11 minutes of clashing drums, odd chanting, and drip-drops of electronic beats, a truly epic performance that engages your ears in a musical extravaganza from beginning to end. The Knife is debuting new material on SoundCloud in the coming days. Here is their SoundCloud page where they will be releasing the new tunes. Here's what SoundCloud says on an upcoming album from The Knife:
The Knife, in collaboration with Mt. Sims and Planningtorock, are to release the studio version of the opera ‘Tomorrow, In A Year’, on the 1st March 2010. Commissioned by Danish performance group Hotel Pro Forma to write the music for their opera based on Charles Darwin and his book ‘On the Origin of the Species’, The Knife decided to make this a collaborative process, working with artists Mt. Sims and Planningtorock for the first time, to capture the huge width of the Darwin and evolution theme.
